Data Analyst – OEWS
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey. This temporary position will work directly with HR and payroll professionals to collect employment and wage information, accurately enter data, and match employer-specific job titles to standardized occupational classifications.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a combination of call center, administrative, data entry, and customer service experience who is comfortable conducting professional outbound outreach.
Key Responsibilities

Contact HR and payroll departments by phone and email to collect employment and wage data

Conduct outbound calls and identify the appropriate company contacts and decision makers

Explain the purpose of the OEWS survey and answer general questions regarding the data collection process

Communicate privacy and data protection requirements professionally

Review employer job titles and match positions to the appropriate Standard Occupational Classification (SOC)

Accurately enter wage, employment, and position information into the designated system

Review information for completeness and accuracy

Send individual follow-up emails to employer contacts

Assist with program-driven bulk email campaigns reaching multiple organizations

Maintain accurate contact and outreach information

Follow established procedures for handling confidential employment and wage data
Requirements

Minimum 1 year of call center experience

Minimum 1 year of administrative experience

Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with HR, payroll, and business professionals

Strong data entry and computer skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Professional verbal and written communication skills

Ability to learn job classification systems and follow established guidelines

Comfortable working independently and managing multiple contacts and follow-ups

Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with a State agency or government program

Experience with data collection, surveys, records, payroll, HR, or similar administrative functions

Experience with bulk email campaigns or automated email systems
Work Schedule
Hybrid
Training will be conducted onsite. Employees will typically transition to working from home after training, usually after the first week.
