Customer Service Representative (Packaging / Manufacturing)
Role Summary
The Customer Service Representative provides frontline account management and order support. This role handles incoming customer inquiries, enters sales orders into enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, tracks production schedules, and resolves product or billing discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Management: Receive, review, process, and track customer purchase orders through scheduling, manufacturing, and delivery.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the central link between clients, sales representatives, design departments, logistics, and plant operations.
- Inquiry & Quote Support: Handle customer requests regarding product specifications, pricing, stock availability, freight rates, samples, and estimates.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer complaints, short pays, delivery delays, and billing adjustments, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Inventory & Recordkeeping: Monitor on-demand or just-in-time (JIT) inventory levels, reconcile customer forecasts, and maintain accurate account files.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate's degree or college coursework preferred).
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of customer service experience, ideally handling orders within a manufacturing, containerboard, or corrugated packaging environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and automated order-entry or ERP platforms (such as Amtech or SAP).
- Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, time management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
