Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Custodial Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. This is a hands-on position responsible for routine and detailed cleaning of offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, hallways, entrances, and other assigned areas.
The ideal candidate has previous custodial or janitorial experience, is comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift, and understands proper cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, entrances, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and maintain hard-surface floors
- Vacuum, spot-clean, shampoo, and extract carpeted areas
- Clean high-touch surfaces, fixtures, furniture, doors, glass, and walls
- Clean and restock restroom facilities
- Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling
- Restock custodial and restroom supplies
- Safely mix, label, store, and use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures
- Operate custodial equipment including vacuums, floor machines, auto-scrubbers, extractors, buffers, and pressure-washing equipment
- Complete deep cleaning and other project-based cleaning assignments
- Maintain clean and organized custodial storage areas
- Move cleaning equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials as needed
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, spills, leaks, safety hazards, or damaged equipment
- Follow all safety, sanitation, PPE, and facility procedures
- Assist with additional custodial and facility-support duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented
- Professional when interacting with employees, visitors, and contractors
