Position Summary
This position is responsible for building custom shipping crates, packaging finished products for shipment, assisting with shipping and receiving, and supporting various production activities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with hand tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Build custom wood crates to safely package finished products for shipment.
- Measure products and crate materials using tape measures and other precision measuring tools.
- Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, nail guns, and pneumatic tools.
- Package and secure products to prevent damage during transportation.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling.
- Load, unload, and organize materials in the warehouse.
- Read basic drawings, work orders, and shipping instructions.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure products are packaged correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, carpentry, crate building, or production environment.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
