Communications/Content Specialist

Position Summary

The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing internal and external communications strategies that support projects, programs, products, and services. This role creates compelling content for a variety of audiences and channels while collaborating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and leadership to strengthen brand messaging and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, implement, and evaluate internal and external communication strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Create content for technical writing, public relations, corporate communications, and marketing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, agencies, analysts, consultants, and other external partners.
  • Translate complex technical or business concepts into clear, engaging communications tailored to specific audiences.
  • Maintain a pipeline of customer success stories, case studies, and references by collaborating with project teams and business leaders.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify new opportunities for thought leadership and content development.
  • Collaborate with third-party organizations to license or co-develop research reports, white papers, and other marketing assets.
  • Coordinate communication efforts across departments and proactively identify cross-functional impacts.
  • Manage enterprise-wide content portfolios for both internal employee communications and external customer-facing materials.
  • Ensure brand consistency across corporate and business unit communications on a global scale.
  • Research, write, edit, and produce a wide variety of communication materials, including:
    • White papers
    • Case studies
    • Technical documentation
    • Customer and product brochures
    • Employee and customer testimonials
    • Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
    • Executive speeches
    • Internal company announcements
    • Presentations
    • Advertising materials
    • Video and animation scripts
    • Email marketing campaigns
  • Partner with business leaders to understand industry trends, customer needs, and strategic objectives while developing targeted communication solutions.
  • Support strategic marketing and corporate communication initiatives through effective content planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, technical writing, or related fields.
  • Portfolio demonstrating writing samples and completed communication or marketing projects.
  • Experience creating content across multiple communication channels for diverse audiences.
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience developing proposals for community engagement or public outreach initiatives is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
