Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Compounder, where you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by weighing and mixing product batches according to specified formulas and procedures. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will work under the direct supervision of the Compounding Supervisor and Sr. Compounding Supervisor.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately weigh ingredients following formulas and procedures using calibrated scales.
  • Ensure all ingredients are correctly placed into sanitized containers.
  • Wash, sanitize, and set up manufacturing equipment using cGMP procedures.
  • Compound various products, including lotions, creams, shampoos, soaps, and drinks, by mixing ingredients per formulas.
  • Use Drum Manipulator to transfer ingredients into holding tanks without waste.
  • Operate processing equipment such as pumps, tanks, and mixers properly.
  • Draw product samples for laboratory testing.
  • Verify formulas and procedures by initialing batch sheets and signing tank cards.
  • Identify and report incorrectly prepared batches to supervisors immediately.
  • Correct incorrectly prepared batches using problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the compounding area.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move materials within the department.
  • Utilize the inventory system for weighing tasks.
  • Comply with company SOPs and safety guidelines.
  • Adjust mixer speed as necessary.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on facilities and equipment.
  • Fill in for absent employees when needed.
  • Assist packaging and lab personnel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in a compounding role required.
  • Knowledge of safe forklift operation or ability to be trained.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English to follow formulas and procedures.
  • Ability to accurately convert measurements.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the current inventory system (RF Gen).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Manual dexterity for record keeping.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Capability to bend, squat, kneel, balance, turn, and stoop.
  • Ability to reach forward and overhead.
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to safely operate and drive a forklift.
  • Compliance with OSHA recommendations for product handling.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet.
