Position Summary
The Compounder I is responsible for accurately weighing raw materials and manufacturing product batches according to established formulas and written procedures. This role operates processing equipment, follows cGMP standards, maintains quality and safety requirements, and supports daily production of cosmetic and beverage products.
Key Responsibilities
Batch Preparation & Compounding
- Weigh raw ingredients using approved and calibrated scales according to formulas.
- Place all weighed ingredients into the appropriate sanitized containers.
- Compound lotions, creams, shampoos, soaps, beverages, and other products by following written formulas and procedures.
- Operate pumps, tanks, mixers, and other processing equipment.
- Adjust mixer speeds as needed during production.
- Use a drum manipulator to safely transfer ingredients into tanks with minimal waste.
- Collect product samples for laboratory testing.
- Complete batch sheets and tank cards to verify production accuracy.
Quality & Compliance
- Follow all cGMP procedures and Company SOPs.
- Wash, sanitize, and set up manufacturing equipment before production.
- Identify improperly prepared batches and notify supervision immediately.
- Correct batch discrepancies by following formulas and applying basic math skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized compounding area.
- Meet OSHA safety standards and company safety guidelines.
Material Handling
- Safely operate a forklift to move pallets, drums, and tanks.
- Utilize the RF Gen inventory system during weighing and production.
- Perform accurate inventory transactions and material tracking.
General Support
- Perform minor facility and equipment maintenance, including:
- Cleaning air conditioning vents
- Cleaning insulation on pipework
- Assist Packaging and Laboratory departments as needed.
- Provide coverage for team members during vacations or absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of compounding experience (required).
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic math skills with the ability to convert measurements accurately.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Familiarity with RF Gen inventory system is preferred.
- Knowledge of safe forklift operation or willingness to become certified.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, stoop, reach, balance, and climb ladders up to 10 feet.
- Maintain good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Safely operate a forklift when required.
- Meet OSHA physical requirements for products being manufactured.
