Assignment Details

  • Assignment Duration: 3 Months 
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Work Location: On-Site Manufacturing Plant Environment
  • Employment Type: Temporary Assignment
  • Overtime: Hours worked over 40 per week will be paid in accordance with applicable labor laws

Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mandarin–English Interpreter to support daily operations within a manufacturing plant environment. This role will provide real-time verbal interpretation and written translation between Mandarin and English to support clear communication across production, engineering, quality, safety, and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual communication abilities along with the technical knowledge necessary to accurately translate manufacturing, engineering, and operational discussions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, real-time interpretation between Mandarin and English during:
    • Meetings
    • Production floor interactions
    • Training sessions
    • Operational discussions
  • Translate technical manufacturing terminology, process instructions, safety communications, and engineering or production-related concepts accurately and clearly
  • Support written translation of:
    • Work instructions
    • Procedures
    • Training materials
    • Emails
    • Presentations
  • Facilitate communication between Mandarin-speaking employees, engineers, operators, and English-speaking plant leadership
  • Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and confidentiality while interpreting sensitive or business-critical information
  • Partner closely with operations, engineering, quality, and safety teams to ensure accurate understanding of plant processes and expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written)
  • Minimum of 2 years of interpretation and/or translation experience
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technical environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Manufacturing processes
    • Production operations
    • Engineering concepts
    • Safety protocols
    • Technical terminology
  • Ability to interpret complex technical discussions accurately in real time
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting manufacturing plants, factories, or industrial operations
  • Familiarity with:
    • Technical documentation
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Production workflows
  • Formal translation or interpretation certification/training preferred
