Overview
Client is seeking a Commercial Application Support Business Analyst to support operational and technology processes, analyze business-critical application issues, improve reporting and metrics, and partner with stakeholders to drive issue resolution and process improvement.
This role is best suited for a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong application support, data analysis, Excel, Jira, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
Analyze and support operational and application support processes.
Assist in identifying and implementing operational improvement opportunities that generate measurable business value.
Develop reporting and metrics to measure process performance and effectiveness.
Support business-critical operational and technology issues, including impact analysis, root cause analysis, cross-business impact review, and solution coordination.
Mine data from primary and secondary sources, including complex joins across multiple datasets.
Support projects involving application changes, upgrades, issue remediation plans, and 2nd and 3rd line of defense exams.
Partner with stakeholder groups to prioritize, plan, track, and complete workload.
Document requirements, issues, actions, and outcomes with a high level of accuracy.
Support research and resolution of complex or less-than-straightforward issues.
Maintain professionalism and comply with corporate and department policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
3+ years of relevant experience.
Business Analyst, System Business Analyst, Application Support Analyst, or operational support experience.
Strong attention to detail in documenting and implementing requirements.
Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
Experience supporting production application systems used to deliver services to internal or external clients.
Experience with operational impact analysis, root cause analysis, and cross-functional issue resolution.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage change and stay on top of task assignments.
Strong aptitude with technology-based tools, Windows systems, software, and databases.
Experience with Excel and Jira.
Ability to manage large datasets and create summary views using pivot tables, graphs, or data visualizations.
Ability to work well in a team-based, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills or Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
Experience with Access or database-related tools.
Experience with banking, back-office operations, transaction processing, records management, risk management, compliance, or operations.
Experience supporting application changes, upgrades, issue remediation, or audit/exam-related project work.
Work Details
Location: Brooklyn, OH
Work Arrangement: Onsite to start, 5 days per week; may transition to hybrid depending on attendance and job performance
Schedule: Monday–Friday
