CNC Water
Jet Operator
We are hiring an experienced Water Jet Operator
to join its production team. This position is responsible for operating CNC water jet cutting equipment to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.
The ideal candidate has experience with CNC water jet machinery, understands blueprint reading and precision measurements, and is committed to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC water jet cutting equipment to process aluminum and other metal materials.
- Load, position, and secure materials on the cutting table for production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate cuts.
- Verify machine settings, material thickness, and cutting parameters before production.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections to ensure specifications are met.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and daily equipment inspections.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate equipment concerns to maintenance or supervision.
- Maintain accurate production records and follow all quality and safety procedures.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
- Minimum 2 years of Water Jet Operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating CNC water jet cutting equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications.
- Proficient using measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Strong understanding of precision cutting, material layouts, and quality control.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to work independently while meeting production deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Experience cutting aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or other fabricated metal materials.
- Familiarity with Flow, OMAX, Jet Edge, or similar CNC water jet systems.
- Experience in custom manufacturing or metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of nesting software or CAD/CAM programs is preferred.
