Love turning a print into precision parts? Join a model shop where you're trusted to set up, program, and run the job, not just push the green button. If you're an aerospace-experienced machinist who can build a quick-turn fixture on the fly and holds tight tolerances, this one's for you.
Pay:$32-$38 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
1st shift, Monday through Thursday
Location:
Phoenix, AZ
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, plus precision grinders, saws, and semi-conventional machine tools
- Work from drawings and prints to produce precision model shop parts
- Program CNC-controlled machines using your shop math skills (Mastercam experience is a plus)
- Design and build quick-turn fixtures when engineering isn't available, and help procure OEM details to engineering specs
- Run CNC tool room machines and adapt to conventional equipment when the job calls for it
- Heat-treat tool steels and braze as needed
- Work with internal customers and help guide teammates with your know-how
What You Bring
- 3-6 years of machine shop experience
- Hands-on knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, heat-treating, brazing, and shop math
- Fixture and tooling design skills
- GD&T knowledge (certification or specialized training preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, and you take direction well
- Clear communication and good team leadership skills
