Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for one of our parts/tool manufacturing clients in Novi, MI. This is a Contract-to-Hire role.
Shift: 1 st 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Pay: 26-36/hr., per level of experience

Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and setting up CNC machinery. The candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components that match engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various CNC machinery, including Vertical Machining Centers/Mills, Router Table, Plasma Table, CNC Lathes with live tooling and sub-spindles, Laser Table, and other types of multi-axis machines.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Install tooling, fixtures, and materials according to customer specifications
  • Use various precision measurement tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers) to verify dimensions
  • Troubleshoot machines to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with engineers as needed to ensure tight tolerances and high-quality standards are met throughout the production process
  • Ensure documentation is maintained of work performed, including logs and inspections
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed and contribute to continuous improvement methods
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on CNC and other production equipment as needed

Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience of CNC Machining/CNC Machinist within a manufacturing environment
  • Certificate in CNC Machining/advanced manufacturing, preferred
  • Strong aptitude of CNC programming concepts (Offsets, G-Code, and Tooling Paths) with the ability to make changes as needed
  • Ability to understand/ interpret GD&T, blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings
  • Experience with HAAS, FANUC, Siemens, or Mazak controls (Highly preferred)
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming such as Mastercam, Torchmate, ESPRIT, Fusion 360, or Lincoln Electric
  • Understanding of machining processes of various materials (steel, aluminum, plastics, composites, etc.)
