Job Overview
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) lathes to produce precision hydraulic parts. The role emphasizes high-quality output, tight tolerances, and efficient production in a fast-paced environment.

Position Location: Lincoln, NE (relocation assistance negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Program and operate multi-axis CNC lathe (twin-turret machine, with live tooling) to machine parts according to programming specifications.
  • Setup & Tooling: Select and align cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments. Perform tool changes and adjust offsets to account for tool wear or material variations.
  • Quality Inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, thread gages, and height gages) to ensure parts meet customer specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Technical Interpretation: Ability to measure existing parts and input measurements into program CNC Lathe to manufacture new component parts.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance, identify mechanical issues, and ensure a clean and safe workspace.
  • Production Records: Accurately log production quantities, quality checks, and any machine downtime or tool adjustments.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year proven and professional experience in CNC lathe operation.
  • Technical Skills:* Proficiency with CNC controls (prefer Okuma One Touch Conversational AOT or similar).
    • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T(Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
    • Familiarity with various metals used in hydraulic manufacturing (steel, aluminum, alloys).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; technical school certifications or apprenticeships are highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, reliability and a commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Ability to lift and move materials (typically up to 50 lbs).
  • Standing for long periods during a shift.
