CNC Lathe Machinist
2nd shift position M-F 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$30 per hour - $33 per hour on 2nd Shift
Training on Day Shift - 10% shift upon moving to 2nd.
Direct Hire - Marlborough, MA - Area
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up of CNC equipment for each lot of production
• Operate CNC equipment – ensuring consistent quality operation
• Use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and custom
gauges to perform detailed
inspection of parts.
• Perform daily machine maintenance such as but not limited to: Checking levels of oil and coolant,
clearing chips and greasing
chuck.
• Identify and replace worn cutting inserts.
• Utilize basic knowledge of G-Code and CNC operations.
• Operate crane and loading fixtures to move parts in and out of machines.
• Perform setup and in-process documentation of critical parts.
• Knowledge of proper mechanical inspection practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
• U.S. Person.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years' experience with CNC lathe set ups and operation.
• Ability to read drawings with knowledge of ANSI Y14.5/GD&T.
• Must have good mechanical skills, the ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Experience with using micrometers, calipers, hand tools, power tools, etc.
• Able to read and write in English. Must be able to follow written or oral instructions.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office software; Outlook, Word, Excel. Experience with ERP / MRP system preferred but not required.
