Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator / Dimensional In-Process Inspector
to join a growing aerospace manufacturing team in Chandler, AZ. This position is responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment, performing dimensional inspections throughout the manufacturing process, and ensuring products meet engineering drawings and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with precision inspection techniques and is committed to maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to perform dimensional inspections.
- Conduct in-process, first article, and layout inspections to verify product conformance.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Analyze and document inspection results and communicate findings to engineering and production teams.
- Perform inspections using conventional measuring equipment, including surface plates, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Identify nonconforming product and support corrective actions or rework when appropriate.
- Perform minor hand finishing using pneumatic or manual tools to bring parts within specification when applicable.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support quality documentation.
- Assist other quality and manufacturing functions as needed while working in a collaborative team environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing dimensional, in-process, and layout inspections.
- Knowledge of conventional inspection methods and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Airfoil inspection or CMM programming experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
