Job Summary
The Certified Welder will weld and fabricate parts for prototype and production work. The person in this position must be able to read blueprints, follow welding instructions, inspect their own work, and work safely.
Job Duties

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding as needed.
  • Read blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Weld, assemble, and repair metal parts and fixtures.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment.
  • Check finished welds for quality and appearance.
  • Measure parts and materials using measuring tools.
  • Cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding.
  • Complete basic fit-up and fabrication work.
  • Operate a forklift or overhead crane if properly certified.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Report equipment problems and quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Complete required production paperwork.
  • Help with improvement projects and other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current welding certification preferred.
  • At least 2 years of welding experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a weld test.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Reliable attendance.
Preferred Experience
  • Certified Welder credential.
  • Automotive prototype welding experience.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Basic fabrication or machining experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Work around heat and welding fumes.
  • Wear required PPE throughout the shift.
