CDL A Truck Driver – Steel Manufacturing

A local steel manufacturing company in Claremore, OK is hiring an experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our 1st shift team. This is a great opportunity for a reliable, safety-focused driver looking for consistent local routes and a steady schedule — home daily.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport steel products, materials, and supplies between the facility, job sites, and customer locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
- Secure loads properly using chains, straps, and tarps as needed for steel/metal products
- Load and unload materials safely, using proper equipment (forklift experience a plus)
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and DOT-required documentation
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
- Follow all company safety policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively with customers
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL(required)
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
- Minimum 1–2 years of verifiable CDL A driving experience preferred
- Experience hauling steel, flatbed, or heavy materials required
- Ability to lift/move materials and assist with load securement (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong understanding of safe load-securing practices for metal/steel products
- Punctual, dependable, and safety-oriented work ethic
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
