Position Summary
Capital Project SchedulerWe are seeking an experienced Capital Project Scheduler to support large-scale midstream, refining, and industrial capital projects. The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting integrated project schedules throughout the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6, Critical Path Methodology (CPM), schedule forecasting, risk analysis, contractor schedule review, and capital project execution. This individual will work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and project controls teams to ensure projects remain aligned with approved schedules, milestones, and execution plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed resource-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Build and maintain integrated Level 1 through Level 4 schedules.
- Establish project baselines and maintain schedule integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Establish schedule coding structures, calendars, activity attributes, and logic relationships.
- Facilitate schedule development and planning workshops with project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to identify milestones, constraints, and execution requirements.
- Validate schedule logic, critical path activities, float, and overall schedule health.
- Collect, validate, and update project progress during established reporting cycles.
- Analyze schedule performance and forecast project completion dates.
- Identify schedule trends, productivity impacts, delays, and emerging risks.
- Perform critical path and near-critical path analysis.
- Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans for schedule variances.
- Review contractor schedules and validate reported progress.
- Generate weekly and monthly schedule reports for project leadership.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, milestone reports, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, and executive summaries.
- Support earned value management reporting where applicable.
- Monitor schedule performance indicators including SPI, milestone achievement, float consumption, and schedule health.
- Participate in schedule risk assessments and support probabilistic schedule analysis and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Evaluate schedule impacts related to scope changes, delays, contractor performance, change orders, and unforeseen events.
- Support claims analysis and schedule impact evaluations.
- Review contractor schedules for compliance with project requirements and execution plans.
- Ensure schedule integration across multiple contractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Participate in planning meetings, constructability reviews, project reviews, and turnaround planning activities.
- Communicate schedule status, risks, impacts, recovery strategies, and forecast dates to project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of project scheduling experience supporting major capital projects.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Primavera P6 experience.
- Experience supporting capital projects in one or more of the following industries:
- Refining
- Midstream
- Oil & Gas
- Pipelines
- Terminals
- Storage facilities
- Petrochemical or heavy industrial
- Experience working with EPC contractors and/or owner organizations.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 Professional.
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
- Experience with resource loading and cost loading.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project leadership, contractors, vendors, engineering, procurement, and field construction teams.

Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite position in Dallas, TX. Candidates must be able to work onsite.
