Nesco Data Center is seeking Cabling Techs in the Greater Irvine CA area.
Scope:

Scope of Work

1. Pre-Installation Preparation

Five (5) resources will arrive onsite approximately one week prior to the start of cabling installation to perform the following activities:

  • Conduct a site walk to identify installation barriers, access requirements, and potential issues.

  • Establish and organize the designated work area, including installation of shelves, tables, and other required workspace equipment.

  • Organize and stage cabling and associated materials.

  • Develop, test, and verify cable labeling requirements and ensure labeling is consistent throughout the installation.

2. Receiving and Material Handling

Resources will support the receipt, preparation, inventory, and staging of cabling and associated equipment, including:

  • Receive shipments of cabling, transceivers, and related materials.

  • Unbox and prepare equipment for installation.

  • Perform inventory of cables, transceivers, and associated materials.

  • Remove and properly dispose of shipping boxes and packaging materials.

  • Move and stage materials at designated installation locations.

3. Equipment Installation

Provide installation services for approximately 6,400 transceivers, including:

  • Unpacking and staging transceivers.

  • Installing transceivers into designated equipment and ports.

  • Ensuring proper seating and installation.

  • Performing basic visual and physical verification following installation.

4. Equipment Labeling

  • Produce and apply equipment and cable identification labels as required.

  • Ensure labels are applied consistently and in accordance with the established labeling standards.

5. Cabling Installation

Approximately 5,712 cables are included within the scope of work. Activities will include:

  • Inventory and organize cables prior to installation.

  • Label cables according to established labeling standards.

  • Prepare, route, dress, and organize cables.

  • Connect cables to designated ports.

  • Verify cable connections and installation.

  • Confirm link lights and basic connectivity indicators where applicable.

  • Verify cables are connected to the appropriate designated ports.

  • Maintain an organized and professional cable installation throughout the work area.

6. Remediation and Basic Troubleshooting

Provide basic remediation and troubleshooting of cabling and transceiver installations, including:

  • Troubleshoot basic cable connectivity issues.

  • Clean SFP/transceiver interfaces as appropriate.

  • Swap SFPs/transceivers and cables to isolate potential hardware or cabling issues.

  • Re-verify connectivity following remediation activities.

  • Escalate unresolved hardware or software-related issues to the appropriate technical support team for further troubleshooting.
