Buyer / Procurement Specialist – Aerospace Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support purchasing activities within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, components, equipment, parts, and services required to support production and business operations. The ideal candidate will have strong supplier management, negotiation, analytical, and purchasing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify manufacturing and operational purchasing requirements and source qualified suppliers.

  • Obtain, review, and compare supplier quotations, bids, pricing, lead times, and terms.

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other commercial conditions to obtain the best overall value.

  • Select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, capabilities, and business requirements.

  • Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.

  • Monitor open purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule.

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery status, discrepancies, and other purchasing issues.

  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, finance, and other internal teams to resolve material and procurement requirements.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing data, and order documentation.

  • Utilize ERP, MRP, EDI, purchasing, and materials management systems to process and monitor procurement activities.

  • Review purchasing and financial information to identify trends, discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities, and potential supply risks.

  • Support supplier performance management and assist with resolving delivery, quality, and commercial issues.

  • Research market and supplier information and develop recommendations based on available data.

  • Ensure purchasing activities follow company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve purchasing efficiency, cost, quality, and delivery performance.

  • Effectively prioritize assignments while working with general direction and managing multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, materials, or supply chain.

  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience required.

  • Experience purchasing manufacturing parts, materials, equipment, or services preferred.

  • Strong understanding of supplier sourcing, purchasing processes, negotiations, and purchase orders.

  • Experience with ERP, MRP, EDI, or other procurement/materials management systems.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to analyze financial information, pricing, discounts, percentages, and supplier data.

  • Ability to negotiate effectively and establish productive supplier relationships.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.

  • CPM or purchasing/procurement certification is a plus.

Work Schedule & Assignment

Location: North Hollywood, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Assignment: Temporary assignment, September–December 2026
Pay Rate: Approximately $40–$45/hour, depending on experience
