Overview

The role involves managing the procurement of components from suppliers to ensure timely delivery, supporting production needs. This position serves as a crucial communication and logistics link between various departments, including Value Streams, Supervisors, Marketing, Master Scheduler, and Purchasing.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily priorities and schedule changes to external suppliers to align with production requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing common issues with leadership and procurement teams.
  • Monitor supplier orders to ensure timely shipment in support of production operations.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for production materials and operations to support customer proposals.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to implement best procurement practices, focusing on cost efficiency and supplier management.
  • Publish daily reports on supplier delivery statuses.
  • Manage supplier quality through the Non-Conforming Report process, minimizing production impacts by coordinating with relevant teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a similar industry or equivalent knowledge through work or education. A BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Materials-related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and working knowledge of procurement, production planning, and material management systems.
  • Proficient in communication, Excel, Word, and Access databases.
  • Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules, solve urgent manufacturing problems, and document production outcomes.
  • Strong math and logic computation skills.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors and manufacturing teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kanban systems and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
