Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Blue Yonder Functional & Technical Engineer to lead the implementation, configuration, integration, and support of Blue Yonder Warehouse Management (WMS) within a complex manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert responsible for delivering end-to-end warehouse management capabilities across inbound receiving, inventory movement and storage, manufacturing integration, warehouse execution, and outbound fulfillment.
The ideal candidate combines deep manufacturing and warehouse operations knowledge with hands-on Blue Yonder implementation experience. This position focuses on optimizing material flow, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, operational visibility, and warehouse performance through effective use of Blue Yonder WMS capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary functional and technical SME for Blue Yonder WMS and lead implementation and optimization activities across inbound, internal warehouse, manufacturing-support, and outbound processes.
• Configure and optimize Blue Yonder WMS capabilities including receiving, directed put-away, inventory control, work order integration, directed work, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and outbound fulfillment.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with manufacturing, receiving, warehouse, inventory control, shipping, logistics, and business stakeholders.
• Design future-state business processes, workflows, functional specifications, and business process documentation.
• Assess and apply additional Blue Yonder WMS capabilities to improve receiving throughput, inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, material availability, and operational visibility.
• Translate business requirements into scalable system designs and technical solutions.
• Design, support, and troubleshoot integrations with ERP, MES, transportation, warehouse, and related enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot application, interface, and data issues while supporting upgrades, enhancements, and production deployments.
• Develop technical specifications, operational documentation, and support materials.
• Lead implementation activities through requirements, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare support.
• Coordinate efforts among business teams, vendors, system integrators, and IT resources.
• Manage testing activities, defect resolution, deployment planning, and production support.
• Provide hands-on support during receiving, warehouse, manufacturing integration, and outbound operational cutovers.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• 7+ years of Blue Yonder implementation experience.
• Proven experience implementing and configuring Blue Yonder WMS across both inbound and outbound warehouse operations.
• Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments.
• Strong understanding of inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, and transportation processes.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse execution processes including directed put-away, directed work, replenishment, picking, staging, and loading.
• Experience with manufacturing operations, work order integration, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Experience leading full lifecycle implementations including requirements, design, configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Multiple end-to-end Blue Yonder WMS implementations spanning receiving, inventory, warehouse execution, manufacturing integration, and outbound fulfillment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing facilities operating in a multi-shift environment.
• SAP integration experience.
• Experience integrating Blue Yonder with ERP platforms, MES systems, warehouse automation solutions, and transportation systems.
• Blue Yonder certifications.
• Experience serving as a lead consultant or solution architect.
