Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Counter Shop Associate to join our growing team. This position combines customer service, sales support, and warehouse responsibilities. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with customers, have strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working both at the service counter and in the warehouse retrieving materials and fulfilling orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in customers, phone inquiries, and email communications.
  • Assist customers with product selection and answer questions regarding available materials and services.
  • Prepare accurate pricing quotes and process customer orders.
  • Learn and understand the company's product offerings, sizes, grades, and applications.
  • Retrieve customer orders from the warehouse and prepare materials for pickup.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and customer service areas.
  • Accurately measure materials and perform basic calculations related to customer orders.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional communication and service.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
  • Experience in the metal industry, plumbing supply, construction materials, industrial distribution, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Strong math skills with the ability to perform measurements, calculations, and pricing accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong phone etiquette and professional customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and email communication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in both an office/customer service setting and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable retrieving materials and customer orders from warehouse inventory.
