The Batch Receiver is responsible for receiving and loading product while maintaining high food quality and food safety standards. This position includes hooking up and unloading tankers, performing quality testing on product , and executing Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures on tankers and processing equipment. The operator maintains a clean and sanitary work environment and is responsible for routine sanitation within the raw product receiving area.
Schedule: 12-hour day shift (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM). The role follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, followed by two days off, two days on, and three days off. Team members work every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Pay Range: A shift $25.50-$27 B shift $27.50-$29.50 (includes shift premium)
Core Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies, work procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain audit-ready conditions
- Take direction from and report to Processing Supervisors
- Ensure product is received within specifications and meets all food safety and quality requirements
- Inspect, document, and transfer products from suppliers to designated raw material silos
- Receive and load product , byproducts, and filtration ingredients from tankers
- Perform testing and documentation of product loads
- Clean processing equipment including silos, lines, and tankers using hand cleaning, CIP, and COP methods
- Collect accurate samples to monitor CIP systems and chemical concentrations
- Collect samples of products for quality assurance testing
- Monitor testing equipment and replace supplies as needed
- Service pumps, valves, and heat exchangers in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules
- Report any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions related to equipment, suppliers, or drivers
- Follow escalation protocols based on production and quality triggers
- Assist in training new employees and developing team members
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Complete Master Sanitation Schedule (Client), Centerline (CL), and Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL) tasks accurately and on time
- Communicate with processing teams regarding delays or schedule changes
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
- Ability to work safely and efficiently while following all safety procedures
- Willingness to ask for clarification when needed
- Ability to operate equipment effectively after training
- Must have or be able to obtain an Industrial Truck Operator License
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication
Food Safety Requirements
- Report any needed repairs or adjustments that may impact food safety or product quality
- Follow all handling procedures, including color-coded container policies
- Perform all duties in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Take action to prevent food safety or quality issues
- Identify and document concerns related to ingredients, processes, or systems
- Stop or control processing or delivery of nonconforming products until resolved
- Ensure trained personnel provide coverage during absences

- The operator stands for most of the shift and walks on uneven concrete and tile surfaces. The role involves lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, with team lifting required for items over 100 pounds.

- Responsibilities include pushing and pulling materials such as pallets, equipment, and pipe fittings. Occasional bending and stooping are required when servicing equipment or cleaning.

- The role may involve squatting, kneeling, or crawling under equipment during cleaning or maintenance tasks, along with occasional twisting and turning when connecting equipment.
- Climbing / Balancing / Reaching
- The operator may climb stairs or ladders and reach below, at, and above shoulder level when handling fittings or servicing equipment.
- Hand Use / Dexterity
- Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for operating equipment, connecting fittings, handling materials, and performing cleaning tasks.
- Work conditions may include exposure to ambient and elevated temperatures up to approximately 110°F due to equipment operation and sanitation processes.
