Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Automation Electrician II to join a growing automation and machine-building team in Victor, NY. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrician with a background in automation, controls, and machine building. The Automation Electrician II will be responsible for electrical panel assembly, machine wiring, troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting custom automation systems from build through installation. Candidates with strong electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and hands-on troubleshooting experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay Rate:
- $24.00 - $30.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
Shift(s):
- Day Shift:
Monday - Friday
- Travel Required: Up to 30% (Domestic and International)
Job Duties:
- Build and wire electrical control panels and custom automation equipment
- Drill, tap, and install wireways, DIN rails, electrical components, and hardware
- Create enclosure cutouts and install electrical components according to specifications
- Maintain job parts inventory and verify required materials are available
- Review and update electrical drawings and documentation with current revisions
- Collaborate with engineers and machine builders on electrical layouts and component placement
- Route and install wiring, tubing, and electrical/plumbing components for automation systems
- Troubleshoot wiring, assembly, and electrical issues during machine builds
- Support machine startup, power-up procedures, testing, and debugging activities
- Assist with machine disassembly, packaging, and shipping preparations
- Label panels, enclosures, and components using identification systems
- Follow all safety procedures, electrical standards, and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience in automation, controls, industrial, or machine-building environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods, and control panel assembly
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Understanding of NEC, UL, and electrical safety standards
- Experience using multimeters and electrical diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to automation equipment and moving machinery
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Exposure to electrical systems and potential electrical hazards
- Ability to safely use hand tools and electrical testing equipment
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Must follow all PPE requirements and electrical safety procedures
- Ability to travel up to 30% for equipment installations and customer support
