Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking an Automation Electrician II to join a growing automation and machine-building team in Victor, NY. This role is responsible for electrical panel assembly, machine wiring, troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting custom automation system builds from assembly through installation. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, can interpret schematics, and enjoys working in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay Rate:
- $24.00 – $30.00/hour, based on experience
Shift:
- Day Shift | Monday – Friday
- Travel Required: Up to 30% (Domestic and International)
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and wire electrical control panels and automation equipment
- Drill, tap, mount wireways, DIN rails, and electrical components
- Create enclosure cutouts and knockouts as required
- Maintain job parts inventory and ensure required components are available
- Keep electrical drawings and documentation updated with current revisions
- Collaborate with engineers and machine builders on device placement and machine layout
- Route and install wiring, tubing, and plumbing for automation systems
- Troubleshoot wiring, assembly, and electrical issues during machine builds
- Support machine startup, power-up procedures, and debugging activities
- Assist with machine disassembly, packaging, and shipping preparations
- Label panels, enclosures, and components using engraved identification tags
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an electrician in the automation, controls, or machine-building industry
- Strong understanding of electrical components, wiring methods, and panel assembly techniques
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of NEC, UL, and electrical safety standards
- Ability to use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Exposure to electrical systems and risk of electrical shock
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Required use of appropriate PPE and safety equipment
- Ability to travel up to 30% for equipment installations and customer support
