As an Assistant Project Manager I, you'll work closely with senior project managers to support projects ranging from small to complex. You'll take ownership of coordination and administration tasks, while progressively building the skills needed to lead projects of your own. From estimating and scheduling to customer communication and financial oversight, this role offers a comprehensive foundation in project management and a clear path for growth.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with lead project managers to deliver projects successfully, on time, and within budget.

  • Build strong relationships with customers and subcontractors while supporting business development efforts.

  • Participate in bidding and proposal preparation, including estimates, take-offs, and pricing strategy.

  • Assist in creating project plans covering scheduling, Client, budgets, safety requirements, and equipment needs.

  • Support jobsite safety through audits, documentation, and training initiatives.

  • Coordinate with field crews to ensure smooth communication, clear scope definitions, and safety expectations.

  • Monitor progress, resolve challenges, and track changes in scope, schedule, or resources.

  • Contribute to financial management, including billing, change orders, and work-in-progress reporting.

  • Learn and grow in contract development, risk management, and leadership skills.

  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

What You Bring

  • With a degree:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field.

    • Internship or up to 3 years of utility/construction experience preferred.

  • Without a degree:

    • 8 years of hands-on construction experience plus 3 years of supervisory experience.

    • Electric utility experience or formal apprenticeship preferred.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and problem-solve in fast-paced environments.

  • Basic industry knowledge and a desire to continuously grow.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
