Overview
Client is seeking an engineer to support ASIC and FPGA development on research and development programs. This role focuses on developing, testing, integrating, and verifying complex digital systems, including digital signal processing, high speed digital designs, high speed communications, and system-on-chip solutions implemented on FPGA platforms.
The engineer will collaborate with systems architects, RF/analog and digital circuit designers, and ASIC/FPGA engineers to contribute to the design, simulation, verification, integration, and testing of advanced products. The role also supports automation and scripting efforts to improve FPGA development processes and affordability.

Core Responsibilities
• Develop, test, integrate, and verify ASIC and FPGA-based solutions for complex digital systems.
• Support digital signal processing (DSP), high speed digital design, high speed communications, and system-on-chip (SOC) implementations on FPGA platforms.
• Work with COTS-based control platforms and embedded processors implemented on FPGA platforms.
• Create and improve automation and scripting solutions to enhance FPGA development efficiency.
• Collaborate across disciplines with systems architects, RF/analog designers, digital circuit designers, and ASIC/FPGA engineers.
• Contribute to the design, simulation, verification, integration, and testing of complex high speed products and networking-based systems.

Education
Bachelors+ 6-10 years or Masters + 4-8 years

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience combined with education.
• Experience verifying digital ASICs/FPGAs and/or mixed-signal ASICs/FPGAs.
• HDL programming experience using VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Possess an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance, or be willing and capable of obtaining the required clearance.

Preferred Skills or Experience
• Experience leading or managing ASIC projects.
• Demonstrated self-starter with strong learning agility and high emotional intelligence.
• Space systems design experience.
• Understanding of system and hardware requirements related to space applications.
• Customer-facing communication experience in areas such as product sales, services, marketing, or field support.
• Proficiency in AI prompting as it relates to engineering practices and this type of role.

Work Details
• Onsite full-time.
•  Secret clearance not required, however, preference given to candidates who already hold an active Secret clearance.
