About the Role

We’re looking for an Applications Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting complex electrical power distribution projects. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer in the first several years of their career who wants to build deeper expertise in power distribution equipment, technical applications, project requirements, and customer solutions.

You’ll work from engineering drawings, electrical one-lines, specifications, and project requirements to help determine the right technical solution, equipment, materials, and overall project approach. While estimating and pricing are part of the position, this is not a sales or general estimating role — the technical engineering side is central to the job.

What You’ll Do

• Review customer specifications, drawings, electrical one-lines, and other technical documents to understand project requirements.

• Develop technical applications and equipment solutions for electrical power distribution projects.

• Evaluate equipment, materials, components, labor, and outside services needed to develop accurate project pricing and proposals.

• Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management, and sales teams to develop practical solutions and complete technical proposals.

• Research equipment, vendors, lead times, and technical requirements to support project planning and equipment selection.

• Identify technical, cost, schedule, or sourcing issues early and help develop alternative solutions when needed.

• Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal teams, including proposal reviews and project handoffs.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering/technical field preferred.

• Approximately 1–5 years of experience in applications engineering, electrical engineering, project engineering, or a similar technical role.

• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Familiarity with equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, distribution equipment, and low- or medium-voltage systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn technical requirements into practical solutions.

• Comfortable working across multiple projects and coordinating with engineering, procurement, project, and commercial teams.

Who This Could Be a Great Fit For

This position could be a strong fit for an early-career Electrical Engineer or Applications Engineer who has a few years of industry experience and wants to expand their technical knowledge into complex power distribution applications.

Candidates with a closely related technical engineering degree may also be considered when their education and experience provide a strong foundation in electrical systems and equipment.

Work Environment

This is a primarily on-site Tulsa position, with flexibility to work remotely up to 5 days per month. The role is primarily office/engineering based, with occasional interaction with production and project environments.
