Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to develop product line strategies that drive profitable aftermarket business growth within the aerospace industry. This position is responsible for developing and executing revenue-generating strategies across multiple commercial and military aircraft programs, with accountability for a portfolio of complex aerospace products and subsystems.

The ideal candidate will collaborate across business development, customer service, operations, engineering, and regional sales teams to identify growth opportunities, develop strategic customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and expand aftermarket service offerings. This individual will also support monthly sales forecasting and annual business planning while helping launch new products and services that align with customer needs and company objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product line strategies to grow aftermarket revenue across multiple aerospace programs.
  • Own financial performance and revenue growth for assigned aftermarket product portfolios.
  • Partner with business units, operations, and regional sales teams to maximize long-term aftermarket revenue opportunities.
  • Develop short- and long-term sales forecasts and contribute to annual operating plans.
  • Collaborate with customer service leadership to execute aftermarket growth strategies and support operational initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary strategic contact for customers regarding:
    • Product repairs
    • Spare parts
    • Logistics
    • Contract negotiations
    • Pricing strategies
  • Coordinate with technical teams to resolve field performance issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop proposals and negotiate contracts that meet customer requirements while delivering profitable business results.
  • Support contract renewals and renegotiations by developing strategic solutions throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Conduct competitive market research and analyze industry trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate sales performance and establish goals and milestones for assigned product lines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while identifying future business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, engineering, operations, and customer service teams to improve product quality, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize analytics to optimize product portfolios and maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Develop business cases for new retrofit products and service offerings.
  • Present recommendations based on market research, financial analysis, and business intelligence.
  • Stay current on industry trends through professional development, trade associations, and industry conferences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, product management, program management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing large, high-revenue programs or product portfolios.
  • Experience supporting aerospace aftermarket products, services, or aviation programs.
  • Strong background in strategic business development and revenue growth.
  • Experience developing sales forecasts and annual business plans.
  • Strong contract negotiation and pricing experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer relationships with strategic accounts.
  • Experience conducting competitive analysis and identifying market opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, customer service, marketing, and executive leadership teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial and/or military aerospace industry experience.
  • Aftermarket services experience involving repairs, spare parts, logistics, and customer support.
  • Experience managing complex aerospace product portfolios.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management and portfolio optimization.
  • Experience developing business cases for new products or retrofit opportunities.
  • Familiarity with aviation contracts and long-term customer agreements.
