The Opportunity
An established manufacturing company in the Tulsa area is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of day-to-day AP operations. This is more than just invoice entry — you'll work closely with Purchasing, Receiving, vendors, and the Accounting team to keep payments accurate, resolve discrepancies, and support the overall accounting process.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in full-cycle accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment where purchase orders, receiving records, and inventory-related invoices are part of the daily workflow.
What You'll Do
-
Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, entry, approvals, and payment processing.
-
Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving records; research and resolve discrepancies.
-
Prepare payment runs, ACH, wire requests, and checks while monitoring payment terms and early-payment discounts.
-
Reconcile vendor statements, maintain vendor records, and handle vendor inquiries.
-
Process company credit card statements, employee expense reports, utilities, recurring bills, and petty cash.
-
Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals, aging reports, and general ledger reconciliations.
-
Support annual 1099 preparation, physical inventory counts, accounts receivable, and other accounting projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
-
4+ years of accounts payable experience with a strong understanding of full-cycle AP.
-
Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience strongly preferred.
-
Experience with purchase orders, receiving documentation, three-way matching, and inventory-related invoices.
-
Familiarity with an ERP or accounting system; experience with [client system] is a plus.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
-
Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage invoice volume and payment deadlines.
-
Professional communication skills when working with vendors and internal departments.
-
Accounting or Finance degree preferred; relevant experience in place of a degree will be considered.
