Position Overview

The successful candidate will spearhead the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, month-end close processes, and team management. This role demands oversight of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. Close collaboration with the CFO is essential for budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, financial analysis, and driving business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger management, and reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes alongside financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and company accounting policies.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee revenue recognition and accounting across multiple sales channels.
  • Manage inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and inventory controls.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams on inventory accuracy and cost management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis with the CFO.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to executive leadership.
  • Support ERP, 3PL, e-commerce, and other financial system integrations.
  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs and support audits, tax filings, and compliance activities.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, inventory/cost accounting, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based businesses.
  • Experience with multi-state operations.
