Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operations while providing hands-on support to production employees. This individual will work closely with the Production Supervisor to coordinate workflow, assign job responsibilities, monitor quality and productivity, and ensure production goals are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, previous leadership experience, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues, train employees, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily production activities and assist the Production Supervisor with managing workflow and priorities.
- Assign employees to specific tasks based on their skills, experience, and production requirements.
- Provide hands-on support with production operations and equipment as needed.
- Monitor employee performance to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety procedures are met.
- Train and demonstrate proper job duties, equipment operation, and production procedures to team members.
- Motivate and support production employees to maintain productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Identify and communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and potential delays to management.
- Ensure employees have the necessary materials, supplies, and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Complete and maintain accurate production records, daily reports, production sheets, and required documentation.
- Verify production counts and ensure information is accurately entered into the appropriate tracking systems.
- Assist with preparing finished products for shipment and ensuring orders are completed on schedule.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing downtime, and improving quality.
- Communicate production updates, employee performance, and operational concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure all team members follow established safety guidelines and manufacturing procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production experience.
- At least 2 years of previous leadership or team lead experience.
- Previous experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to motivate, train, and lead a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
