Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Second Shift Process Tech in Laurens SC. Qualified candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply in person or online today.
Position Summary
The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and optimizing plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality automotive components. This role ensures processes are running efficiently, safely, and within quality standards while minimizing scrap and downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and start injection molding machines, including loading programs and verifying parameters
- Adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, cycle time, shot size, etc.) to maintain optimal production
- Monitor molding processes to ensure parts meet quality specifications and customer requirements
- Troubleshoot process issues such as short shots, flash, warping, and other molding defects
- Perform mold changes and assist with machine changeovers as needed
- Conduct first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks using gauges and measuring tools
- Document process changes, downtime, and production data accurately
- Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve issues quickly
- Support preventive maintenance efforts and report equipment concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment (5S standards)
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of molding processes, materials, and machine functions
- Experience with machine setup, process adjustments, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, process sheets, and basic blueprints
- Basic knowledge of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Experience with automotive manufacturing standards.
- Basic PLC or machine interface knowledge
- Experience with mold changes and tooling adjustments
Pay Rate
$18.00 per hour
