2nd Shift Cycle Counter — Job Description
2nd Shift Cycle Counter  is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or distribution center during evening shift operations. This role performs scheduled inventory counts, investigates discrepancies, and supports overall inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Typical Schedule
  • Second shift hours
    • 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
    • May include overtime or weekends
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of inventory
  • Verify quantities, locations, lot numbers, and product conditions
  • Update inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software
  • Conduct recounts and audits as needed
  • Maintain organized inventory locations and labeling
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, or forklifts (if certified)
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, or cycle counting experience preferred
  • Basic math and data entry skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to use handheld scanners and inventory software
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other inventory systems
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience

  • Exposure to varying temperatures and industrial equipment
