Job Description : 1st Shift Spot Welder
Welds metal components together with resistant welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, motors and generators by performing the following duties
- Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Welds metal parts together using resistant projector welding processes
- Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products
- Compares work piece with sample part to verify conformance to specifications

Education and/or experience:
Willing to accept candidates with less than high school education, if experience or training amounts to a minimum of three months related experience or training
Language skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and effectively present information in a one on one and small group situations to other employees
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat and reach, grasp, push and pull using arms and legs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics describes here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level and air quality are usually moderate. The employee will encounter hydraulic and other oils as well and various types of metal components.
