Job Description: Mainteance Technician
Maintenance Technician in Gastonia, NC, is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment and facilities
. The role minimizes downtime by addressing mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing issues to ensure a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting:Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing failures, replacing or fixing defective parts like valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, and hoses.
- Preventive Maintenance:Conduct routine checks and servicing to prevent equipment breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.
- System Installation:Assemble and install facility plumbing and piping systems, including drainage and water supply.
- Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate work logs, report on needed repair materials, and strictly follow all safety and company regulations.
- Technical Reading:Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to guide repairs.
- Experience:Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge:Strong, hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic principles, and plumbing codes.
- Physical Capabilities:Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying conditions, and safely lift/move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
