Maintenance Technician 

Location: Penn Yan, NY
Pay:$28–$36 per hour, based on experience
Sign-On Bonus:$3,000 paid after 30 days

Nesco Resource is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a direct-placement opportunity with a leading food and beverage manufacturer in Penn Yan, NY. This is a permanent position in which the selected candidate will be hired directly by the client.

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will support equipment maintenance and reliability within a 24/7 beverage and dessert manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, completing repairs, and ensuring equipment remains in safe and efficient operating condition.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment

• Identify abnormal equipment conditions and resolve issues

• Support machine setup, testing, adjustments, and mechanical rebuilds

• Perform emergency repairs as needed during daily operations

• Work safely around moving machinery, steam systems, compressed air, and cleaning chemicals

• Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings

• Perform facility maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, welding, and general repairs

• Support wastewater and utility systems as applicable

• Communicate equipment concerns and improvement opportunities to leadership

• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Minimum of two years of industrial maintenance experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment

• Experience with electrical, electromechanical, or pneumatic systems

• Equipment troubleshooting experience preferred

• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings preferred

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Commitment to safe work practices and established safety procedures

• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

• Reliable transportation required

Schedule

• Full-time, permanent position

• Schedule options: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday

• Initial training: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. for approximately 90 days

• Available shifts:

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.

  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

• Must be available to work weekends and overtime as needed

Work Environment

• Work is performed around industrial equipment and processing areas

• May require working at heights and in confined spaces

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
