Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Thread Rolling Setup & Operator to set up, operate, and maintain flat die thread rolling machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint-reading skills, and at least three years of relevant experience in thread rolling operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Set up and maintain flat die thread rolling machines for rolling green parts or re-rolling to remove nicks.
- Read blueprints and job routings to determine specifications and order requirements.
- Use gauges and measuring instruments to ensure parts conform to specifications.
- Set and adjust tooling as required.
- Perform first-piece inspection to verify all dimensions meet print requirements.
- Tear down machine setups upon job completion.
- Replace and reset thread roll dies as needed.
- Inspect parts throughout production to ensure ongoing conformance.
- Operate with a valid Kerr Lakeside tow motor license (or obtain upon hire).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; ensure floors remain free of oil.
- Assist and instruct co-workers as needed.
- Follow all safety rules; report unsafe conditions to a supervisor immediately.
- Perform and support preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling; report repair needs promptly.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and directions to support organizational goals.
- Respond to issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Represent the company's best interest in all actions.
- Participate in continuing education or training programs as needed or directed.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in thread rolling or related machine setup/operation.
- Strong knowledge of thread rolling operations and metal properties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Solid mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Ability to use and read precision measuring devices.
- Strong reasoning skills with the ability to define, analyze, and solve problems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
