Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector with a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) background to join a leading fabrication and manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a seasoned QA professional with a strong understanding of structural steel, mining fabrication, piping, and ducting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and must hold a valid CWI certification or equivalent license.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. | Occasional weekends as needed
Pay Rate: $30–$32/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated components
  • Ensure all welding and fabrication work complies with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications
  • Review and interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and inspection documentation
  • Document non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Communicate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and generate QA reports
  • Support night shift operations with flexibility for occasional weekend work
Requirements:
  • Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) license or certification (required)
  • 10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection in industrial or heavy fabrication environments
  • Hands-on experience with structural steel, mining equipment, piping, and ducting
  • Strong knowledge of welding symbols, NDE methods, and inspection tools
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work night shifts with some weekend availability
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with ASME, AWS D1.1, and other relevant codes
  • Background in mining or industrial construction/fabrication environments
