Material Handler
Shift: M-T, 6am - 4:30pm
Pay:$19/hr
Location: Tucson, AZ
Job Summary
The Material Handler role involves ensuring safe and efficient material management within a warehouse setting. Responsibilities include acting as a safety role model, adhering to Quality Management System standards, verifying product labeling, and coordinating with manufacturing teams to address quality issues. The position requires handling VLMs, performing cycle counts, issuing materials, and moving finished goods, while maintaining accurate documentation and forklift operations.
Essential Functions:
- Act as a positive example for colleagues by demonstrating safe work practices and professionalism, prioritizing your safety and that of others.
- Ensure adherence to all elements of the Quality Management System related to Materials Control, Handling, Line Opening/Closing, and labeling.
- Confirm that products being moved are equipped with an appropriate Pallet Placard & QC Stamp prior to relocation.
- Notify the manufacturing team of any issues or opportunities that could impact product quality.
- Comprehend and adhere to all written documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and forms.
- Clean and restock VLMs.
- Collaborate directly with shippers/receivers to arrange all materials required for the shop floor.
- Return excess material to its designated ERP location.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts.
- Allocate material to work orders as necessary.
- Generate pick lists and pick work orders.
- Securely wrap all skids of finished goods or WIP and transfer them to their designated locations.
You Have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years warehouse experience.
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience with computers and relevant warehouse management computer software.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend and to lift heavy materials up to 40 lbs.
