Very well-established, yet rapidly growing commercial products manufacturer is seeking a strategic, high-impact Director of Operations to join our executive leadership team.
Position Summary
This critical role will shape the long-term direction of manufacturing operations while ensuring excellence in day-to-day execution. The VP will drive innovation, develop scalable systems, and align manufacturing capabilities with the company's growth trajectory. With oversight of production, planning, quality, and purchasing, the VP will balance hands-on leadership with forward-thinking strategy in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead long-term manufacturing strategies that support business objectives and scalability.
- Oversee all aspects of Production, including workflow coordination, resource allocation, and ensuring efficient, high-quality output with the ability to step in directly to coach, assist, or resolve challenges on the floor.
- Manage Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Inventory, and Vendor Relations to support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement innovative technologies, lean methodologies, and systems to improve quality, reduce waste, and increase agility.
- Align manufacturing performance with key operational metrics for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and inventory management.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Engineering, Sales, and Product Development to support innovation and market responsiveness.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of salaried and hourly employees by assessing performance, providing feedback and coaching, and supporting professional development and succession planning.
- Champion enterprise-level use of ERP and data analytics to drive informed decision-making.
- Represent manufacturing in executive discussions and provide input into company-wide planning and investment decisions.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and performance-oriented environment; bilingual capability in English and Spanish is a strong asset.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing, and actively seek opportunities to leverage new technologies or methodologies to improve manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with a proven record of driving strategic initiatives.
- Expertise in metal manufacturing or other precision-driven industries is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in lean transformation, systems implementation, and process optimization.
- Strong command of ERP systems, data analysis, and strategic planning tools. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.
- Executive presence with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; capable of influencing at all levels.
- Professional certifications, such as Certified Manufacturing Professional (CMP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), are a plus.
