Warehouse Material Handler

NESCO Resource is searching for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our client in the West Henrietta area as Warehouse Material Handlers. In this dynamic role, you'll be an integral part of our operations, performing essential tasks such as unloading shipments, picking and transporting orders, and verifying outbound shipments. You'll maintain and operate equipment safely, ensure accurate inventory records, and handle additional responsibilities like repacking cases and repairing goods.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Inbound:

    • Unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
    • Count products and compare with manifest.
    • Inspect shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates.
    • Report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments.
    • Sign for inbound shipments when necessary.
    • Move shipments to storage locations and stack as store merchandise.
  2. Order Picking:

    • Ensure the correct product number, quantity, and type (lot, batch, serial number) are picked.
    • Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment (e.g., fork trucks, cherry pickers, pallet jacks).
    • Label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize as required.
  3. Outbound:

    • Verify quantity, labeling, and address with the order.
    • Sign for outbound shipments when necessary.
    • Move products, cartons, or pallets into trailers, rail cars, or containers efficiently.
  4. Equipment:

    • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
    • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, complying with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  5. Inventory:

    • Keep accurate records and reports.
    • Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Ensure proper stock rotation.
    • Enter inventory adjustments into the computer.
  6. Other Duties:

    • Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions.
    • Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required.
    • Operate a shrink-wrap machine.
    • Charge forklift battery as needed.
    • Stack and separate good from bad pallets when necessary.
    • Clean railcars, trailers, and truck docks/bays as requested.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School education or GED preferred.
  • OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Proper techniques to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety.
  • Ability to handle stress and meet deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
  • Flexibility to shift priorities easily.
  • Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive movements.
  • Responsible work habits.
  • Familiarity with warehouse systems.
  • Availability to work any shift.

Skills/Experience:

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret SOPs, coverage documents, and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport and present information.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform operations using American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Understanding of metric system measurements is beneficial.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other:

  • Skill in typing and operating a computer.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and operate office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and company software.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Exposure to an industrial warehouse environment.
  • Work near moving mechanical machinery with a usually loud noise level.
  • Work at heights and exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases.
  • Requires standing and walking for most of the working day.
  • Physical activities include talking, hearing, bending/stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and pushing/pulling.
  • Must lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Repetitive actions using both hands and feet.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Shift:
Day Shift (6 AM - 4 PM Availability)

Pay Rate:
  • $15.50
