Job Summary
The Paint Operator is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing metal or manufactured components according to customer specifications and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare parts and surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting materials.
- Operate paint booths, spray guns, powder coat systems, and related equipment.
- Apply paint, powder coating, or other finishes according to production specifications.
- Monitor paint thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
- Load and unload parts onto racks, hooks, or conveyors.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet company standards.
- Mix paints, coatings, and solvents according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with material handling and movement of products throughout the facility.
- Support team members and other departments as needed to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous paint, powder coating, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
